My name is Mrs. Clow, and I will be your 8th grade science teacher this year. I have been a science teacher in the Lake Shore District for 16 years and throughout this time I have had the opportunity to work with several dynamic student groups. Continuing this year, I will sponsor the Ski / Snowboard Club, be a co-adviser for the Yearbook Club, and am a member of Outdoor Education that attends the Pinery camping trip with 8th grade students in the spring.
To know a little bit more about me. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Education from Wayne State University and I received my Master’s degree in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College. I am married to my college sweetheart and have two awesome daughters, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a couple of snakes. Traveling, cooking, gardening, and reading are what I enjoy doing most in my spare time.
In this website you will find several areas that may be helpful to you. Please click on the different pages or links provided which are located at the top for more detailed information.
If you are absent for the day look at the daily agenda tab to find out what you missed. You then can go to the "class work/ home work" tab and download/print any work needs to be completed. We also have daily science focus questions DSQ (also found in the daily agenda) that need to be answered (for a grade) which directly relate to the class you missed.
PowerSchool is my primary communication tool to know how you are doing in science and it is the responsibility of you the student and parent/guardian to monitor progress. Additionally, you can choose to sign up (for free) with Remind for announcements throughout the year.
The best way to contact me is through email at [email protected] or by phone (586) 285-8836.
I am excited for the opportunity to work with you and be a part of your educational experience. I am sure it will be a year to remember!
